Ballroom Dancers’ Audition Alert!
The Alex Scott Ballroom Theater, a performance troupe, is currently seeking 2 male and 2 female ballroom dancers to join the cast of an original dance theater production set in the present with some dance numbers from the 30's. There is Savoy swing, cha-cha, mambo and waltz/tango formations along with acting roles. Some ballroom/partnering background necessary. Performing experience and dance training is provided with future opportunities to perform.
Artistic Director: Alex Scott, Yale Ballroom Coach, Dance in Rhythm coach and choreographer.
Rehearsals are held every Wed. & Thur. 8:30-10 pm

Everything That Is New Is Old Again
The Alex Scott Ballroom Theatre is available for bookings of its latest show, "Deja Vu Ballroom" an energetic story showcasing the evolution of dance by performing the authentic styles of the original pioneers of ballroom. Come travel through history: from Rudolph Valentino’s Tango, to the Lindy Hop of the 30’s, stopping at the Big Bands and the Latin Invasion of the 50’s and onto Disco Fever. CBT’s “Deja Vu Ballroom” offers dazzling dance solos and formations of ballroom elegance, latin stepping and jazzy gyrations, proving that everything that is new is old again..
Mission Statement
Our mission is to promote ballroom dance preserving its legacy as a significant and enduring art form. We do this by the incorporation and study of the various partner dances of the 20th century from their earliest original forms to the subsequent evolutionary developments. Dance, we believe is for everyone of all ages and our troupe is made up of professional and amateur dancers of all ages, levels and experience. Incorporating story, song and various dance forms makes the shows more relatable and entertaining as well as a lot of fun to perform.

Connecticut Ballroom Theatre presents “Deja-Vu Ballroom” showcasing the evolution of dance by performing the authentic styles of the pioneers of ballroom. Come travel through history: from Rudolph Valentino’s Tango, to the Lindy Hop of the 30’s, from the Big Band era and the Latin Invasion of the 50’s and onto Disco Fever. ASBT ’s “Deja -Vu Ballroom” offers dazzling dance solos accompanied by four jazzy ballroom formations. Artisitic Director and choreographer Alex Scott with fourteen dancers bring this production to the shoreline, Friday and Saturday, May 29-30, doors open at 7:30, with showtime at 8pm. An open dance party will follow each performance.
